Mission

The mission of Rolling Thunder is as simple in conception as it is demanding in application:

To make certain that we, as a nation, neither neglect our prisoners of war nor forget our missing in action.

Rally

The most visible expression of this mission is the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle First Amendment Demonstration Run, an annual ride and gathering that has taken place since 1988. Riders from around the nation, and even around the world, make their way to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It is an opportunity to meet, exchange information, plan, celebrate our brothers and sisters in arms and focus national media attention on their plight.

Legislation and More

A less visible, but equally important, expression of our mission is our legislative efforts. We strive to affect national policy in a way that will materially assist POW/MIAs. We wrote, got introduced and passed, the Missing Service Personnel Act of 1993.
